Hair Cuts

Last Wednesday, Miss Amy Whicker and her daughter Becca came over and spent the day with us. While they were here, Miss Amy cut both Emilie and Mama's hair. We had a wonderful day filled with fun and laughter. Thank you, Miss Amy and Becca! Come back again soon. :)

Emilie's hair was long and light and pretty when she (0r I) took the time to comb it. But it was getting to be a ratty mess. :-/

Mama's hair was getting to be pretty long. Which is usually the way she likes it, but here recently, she has been wanting a "new look" again. And thanks to sweet Miss Amy, she now has it. :)

It was hard to get a good shot because Mama kept talking ;)
(I hope she doesn't kill me for posting an unflattering picture ;)

Spider Webs

Outside this morning, when I woke up, there was a misty fog over the yard. I grabbed my camera, and with my little sister tagging along, we discovered tiny spider webs in the field.

Some of them were slightly broken or unfinished. But this one was practically perfect!

The fog was so misty and hazy when we first went out...

It started to clear up way too fast though....

But it was still quite lovely... :)

There is just something about droplets of dew hanging from spiders' webs... Makes me smile :)

As we were about to go back inside, I noticed this millipede... and well... I had to take its picture. ;)

Valentines Day

For Valentines day this year we didn't really do anything particularly special. No fancy decorations or frills... but we did have a lovely day. Here are just a few pictures...

I wanted to make some special dessert for the special day so I went through our cookbooks and found my grandmother's famous recipe for sugar cookies. I remember when she used to make them all the time and she told me that she would color the icing pink for Valentines day and green for St. Patrick's day. hehe ;) The memory made me smile. :)

So here they are, pink icing and all :)

And they were good! (even if I do say so myself) ;)

Here is brother Daniel on the top of Daddy's work trailer. He and I were admiring the absolutely gorgeous sky...

God Gives Good Gifts in His Time

Ever since I was a little girl, maybe about seven years old, I have longed for and prayed for a piano. Well, my prayers were answered last week!! Our dear friends, the Frodges were recently blessed with a Baby Grand piano. So Mrs. Frodge gave her piano to her granddaughter, Margaret Stricklen. And the Stricklens gave their piano to us. :D :D

My sister and I were Very excited to get it. :)

Isn't it beautiful? And it fits just perfectly in our family room ;)

We're looking forward to many hours of playing :) :) :)

I'm thanking the Lord for giving good gifts in His time!
