On the Road Again

We are traveling again. This time we are headed to Phoenix, Arizona!
Here we are in Texas at the Cadillac Ranch. Yes, those are antique Cadillacs, buried nose first in the middle of a field and covered in spray paint.

Did you ever think it would be cute to see your daughter under a cadillac? Ironic ain't it?

"Grass!"

We stayed in Fort Defiance, AZ with my good friend Jolene Keeto and her family for a few days. She works at the local Navajo Nation Zoo. Here is Emilie, Rosa Keeto & Sadie possing with the zoo sign.

Daniel's Plants

Boy, have those plants grown fast. I know some of these pictures have been posted before, but I thought you all would appreciate seeing them in sequential order.April 19th, after they were transplanted in the ground.

May 11th, just under a month after being transplanted.

May 22nd, the Jelly Melon needs a taller object to climb.

May 23rd, we harvested our first tomato. As you can see, it was quite red. We discovered after we cut into it that it wasn't quite ready but it was still yummy!

Daniel with his first tomato.

The tomato on June 4th.

The Jelly Melon & "Hansberry" on June 4th. Notice that you can't see the rake anymore.

Creatures, critters & children

Patrick and the children discovered a nest of baby birds near the house.

When we gently moved the leaves to get a look at them,
they would reach up with mouths wide open waiting for food.

Curious bug we found on the front porch

Mary Stricklen, can you tell us what it is?

(Mary says she thinks it's a Florida Eyed Click Beetle. Thanks, Mary ; )

"Daddy, look at this lizard!"

Daniel's garden has really been growing

One plant is a berry, but we didn't know its name so we named it

"Hansberry" in honor of Uncle Hans

We can't wait to taste these tomatoes

Strawberry plants

As I mentioned in our last post, Daniel was sick on his birthday. It turned out he had a bladder infection. This was his second. Dr. Robinson said that two is quite unusual in a little boy and that we should take him to a pediatric urologist to see if there is something more seriously wrong with him. Today, we got a clean bill of health from the infection. Now we need to look into getting with a specialist. At present we plan to wait a bit, until we get settled (I'm being optimistic that that will be soon). Please keep him in your prayers.
